“Now THIS is a track that fits the name Sinister Psyche. Eventually this will be going on my first real album which will be my self-titled LP release. The Hospital is filled to the brim with melodic lines and heavy layers and I’m really proud of this song. Despite being dubstep there’s no LFO’d bass or any heavy LFO work making it “wubless”. I wanted to make a track that set a creepy but exciting and melody-rich atmosphere that will still be a strong and catchy listen.”

reblogging for the west coast crowd. forgot to mention (if it wasn’t pretty obvious already) that the general idea of this song is walking around alone in a deserted hospital in twilight; should be creepy and reflective but not evil or tense. might touch it up a little before final release.

I don’t always like to make aggressive songs, and this is a good example of that. It’s actually been done since January and was done a while before http://soundcloud.com/sinister-psyche/witching-hour . I just never uploaded it for whatever reason. I’ve got loads of work-in-progress tracks and this was one of the better ones and I’ll probably stick it in some kind of aquatic-themed EP at some point as I finish a few more tracks stranded in a state of hiatus.

If it wasn’t obvious, it’s aquatic themed, contains lots of watery samples, and is a reasonably chilled out compared to what I usually make. Major seapunk influence (i dont care if you don’t think its a genre I like it), but this has more of a trance/house aspect to it that chopped and screwed hip-hop flavor. I think it’s pretty strong in the melody area though. That tends to be my recurring motif.

^That was essentially just a copy from my SC description cause I’m lazy…Downloads are free of course.

Thanks to everyone out there who liked Witc)(ing )(our/Fuchsia Ruler so much. I’ve gotten a bunch of asks from people and while I can’t really spam my dashboard with all the answers, I just want you all to know that it really means a lot to me.

I’ve got a lot of saved up material and works in progress that I was kind of holding off working on until this whole contest album thing was all sorted out, but now that this is all done I’m gonna be working on that and likely uploading it. Most stuff will probably only show up here on tumblr, but completed songs will make it to the rest of these sites. Pretty much everything is and will be free; Fuchsia Ruler isn’t just ‘cause of the whole album thing.

I’m just gonna reblog this again for the ~200 new followers I’ve gained since I first put this up (thanks to all of you for following me btw since I never made a formal shout-out post for that). Anyway; I usually always try to write a song with some kind of idea or meaning behind it. I’ll tend to pick out some art too to help get me in the mood for it. This was a theme I wrote based around 63!gamzee heavily inspired by the picture I attached to it.

I actually started on a Bro (Dirk) Strider theme just after the music contest was announced. I figured there’d be a lot of entries for him though so i decided against it. There’s not a lot going on, but since I’ve gotten so much positive feedback on all my music I figure I’ll start uploading it a lot more for you guys to enjoy. If someone recognizes the artist of this picture tell me so I can credit them.

Obviously with a name like Witc)(ing )(our, this song is for the condesce/batterwitch/etc. I always figured a sexy psychotic space empress bent on universal domination needed an over-the-top evil, but also dance-able track. I’d actually been planning to do a song like this for her for quite a while since she’s one of—if not my favorite—characters. Every 30 seconds or so represents a time in the Condesce’s life as we know it up to now and, while the song is almost wholly original, I did pull a few minor, but very recognizable things from songs like liquid negrocity and Twoard2 the Heaven2 to help really nail the connection. 

This song’s not up for free DL atm, but depending on the contest results and all it may be eventually. I’ll probably get around to sticking it up on my youtube and last.fm pages which can be reached from my main blog page or from my soundcloud.
